PUMA signs past and present greatsExpanding their list of sponsored athletes, PUMA has signed Proteas all-rounder Albie Morkel and retired Olympic medal winner and six time world record holder Elana Meyer, now CEO of the JAG Foundation.
PUMA has signed a long-term full technical contract with Morkel, who will wear PUMA’s footwear and full protection gear and use a PUMA bat on-field and the PUMA sports lifestyle ranges off the pitch. PUMA signed a similar deal with his brother, Morne Morkel in December 2008. Other Proteas signed to PUMA include Herschelle Gibbs, Makhaya Ntini, Ashwell Prince, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Robin Peterson and Neil McKenzie. Meyer retired from racing in 2005 and now heads the JAG Foundation, which uses sport to inspire South Africa's disadvantaged children to build a positive future for themselves, their families and their communities. She will not only use PUMA product, but will be an active ambassador for PUMA where she assists with sales, presentation and training on all PUMA technical running product.
